Fee Schedule & Payment Options

The following therapy, counseling  and consultation services are provided by Brian J. Hubbard, LICSW through www.EmpowermentTherapy.com (it is suggested that you review the differences/similarities between therapy and counseling in the FAQs section)

• E-mail therapy/counseling (e-therapy or e-counseling)
• Telephone therapy/counseling
• Therapy/counseling by ‘snail mail’ -United States Postal Service
• Professional Consultation by e-mail or telephone

The following services should be available in near future:

• Therapy/counseling through Video Conferencing (pending technology improvements)

E-Mail therapy/counseling

E-mail therapy/counseling through an exchange of typed  e-mail messages costs $20 for each 15 minutes that I spend reading and composing replies to your questions, problems, and/or issues. Please review the Client Agreement Form and answer as many questions from the Optional Questionnaire as you're comfortable completing. After reviewing the form, I will reply telling you whether I can help you. If I am able to help you, I will ask that you go to my Services and Fees Section and make arrangements to pay. After payment has been received, I will send you a detailed reply to the questions or problems you presented. I typically respond  to emails within 12-24 hours of my receipt of it.

The exception to this  is if you elect to be provided with Empowerment Therapy (for those dealing with physical disabilities, chronic illnesses and/or other traumatic losses as reported in the original questionnaire.  In this case, I will send a more detailed questionnaire  that will facilitate the application of Empowerment Therapy  (please read the section ‘About Empowerment Therapy’ as well as about Empowerment Therapy in the FAQs section).  If I believe I cannot assist you with therapy/counseling, I will email you explaining why I cannot help you. I will suggest an agency/organization/provider  or type of agency/organization/provider that can help you.  Since you have not paid, you have lost only the time you spent completing the Client Agreement Form and Optional Questionnaire. Please note that the more detail you provide me initially, the more information I'll have and the less I'll need to ask for clarification.

Telephone Therapy/counseling

If you prefer, I also provide traditional telephone therapy/counseling. If you would like to set up a telephone consultation, you will need to pay for both the long-distance telephone call, as well as my session fee, since I do not have a toll-free number.  The session fee, as above, is $20.00 for fifteen minutes.

To schedule a session with me, please review my Client Agreement and complete as many questions from the Optional Questionnaire Form as you're comfortable answering. Once you have completed everything, I will review your information and contact you by email, typically within a 24 to 48 hour timeframe. I will let you know if I think I can help you. If so, you will need to pay by clicking on the PayPal link below. After that, please send me a short note, listing 2-3 days and times that we can speak. I'll check my calendar for a mutually convenient time and email you back with the best day and time, along with a telephone  number.  You then call me on that day and time.  Daytime hours between the hours of 10:AM to 3:00 PM are best (seven days a week) are best.  However, no time can be guaranteed, that is why it is necessary to initially send three day and time options.  It is very important that you call on time  calls made ten to fifteen minutes late will be treated as a ‘no-show’ and have to be rescheduled.

Mail Correspondence

We can work together by regular letter if you desire. You write out what you wish to talk about and then send the letter to me via the Post Office. After I receive the letter, I will prepare a reply to your questions, concerns, or problems. (NOTE: the letter must be typed in either 10 or 12 pt. type, otherwise, my adaptive screen reader will be unable to read it.) There are two ways you can pay me. (Again, the fee is $20 per 15 minutes of service) You can pay in advance by using the options listed at the bottom of this page or you can send a check or money order along with your letter.

Professional Consultation (please read the section on ‘Professional Consultation’)  Professional Consultation can be providedeither by e-mail or telephone.  The fee for professional  consultation is $25.00 per fifteen minutes.  Also home study workshops offering CEUs via , on-line workshop or regular mailing of courses/responses that either can be typed, audio-taped and/or conducted by CD are available.  The workshop titles are Empowering the Physically Disabled, Empowering the Chronically Ill and Empowerment Therapy (for clients with Physical Disabilities, Chronic Illnesses and Traumatic Losses/Major  Adjustments).  The cost for a three hour, 3-CEU workshop is $85, while a six hour, 6 CEU workshop is $170.

Fees

My standard Online rate is $20.00 (US) for each 15 minutes of time that I spend reading your emails, composing replies, speaking to you on the telephone, or communicating with you via any other means(e.g. snail mail, Instant Messaging when available, video conferencing when available.

As I mentioned earlier, if I only spend 15 minutes working with you or composing a reply to you, I will only charge you $20.00 for any sort of reply.

If you are a new client, you will need to read my Client Agreement and complete my Optional Questionnaire Form. As a reminder, I would politely ask that you fill out the optional questionnaire so that I can provide you with the best possible advice. After I review the Form, I will send you an email telling you whether I believe we can work together. At that time, you will need to make arrangements to pay me for the amount of time you want me to work on your issues. Again, the exception to this is if you elect Empowerment Therapy and I agree that it is appropriate for you.  In this case, I will send you a more detailed questionnaire which you are to fill out voluntarily (again, the more information you provide, the more I can help). 

Professional Consultation by e-mail or telephone costs $25 per 15 minutes, $50 per 30 minutes, $75 per 45 minutes and $100 per hour.  CEU courses listed above cost $85 per 3-hour, 3-CEU course and $170 per 6-hour, 6-CEU course.

For payment, I use a third-party company, which is known as PayPal. They are nationally recognized, with a secure server. This makes your Internet business transactions as safe as presently possible. You can follow the icons below to the PayPal website and select the amount of time you desire.

After arriving at the PayPal site, you will notice that the address at the top of your browser should be have a "s" at the end of the http. The "s" signifies a secure link. Additionally, you will see a lock on the bottom of your web browser. This shows you that their server is, in fact, secure.
